Bathroom Addition: Reno
Posted: March 26th, 2010 | Author: ab | Tags: bathroom, bathroom addition, demolition, hospital, House, madeleine, raging infectionsYou guys, I’m no hero. I’m just an ordinary citizen who is adding a bathroom to her house while her teenage daughter has been in the hospital with a kidney infection for 2 days.
Wait, I am TOTALLY a hero.
Workmen wait for no one, not even people who have to spend the night on hospital cots. The improvements continue apace. To wit:
1. Here is the original closet (check that wallpaper!). The other closet is behind the wall they knocked out to make the whole bathroom.

2. Yesterday (please note plumber’s butt).

3. And this morning.

4. A shot of the new closet that’s being built to replace the original closet(s). Y’all, they are making me CUSTOM METAL HANDLES for the doors. Can you EVEN?

This one’s for Erin, who needed some proof that I am not a decorating superhero. Our dining room. It has looked like this all week. Today, it looks worse. You’re welcome.

Thank you for all of your kind words on Twitter and elsewhere. The patient is feeling much better today, and I think we’ll all be home by Sunday.
Hooray!

It’s looking good and of course I’m jealous but I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of “get well soon Mad!”
I hope your daughter gets well soon! And, even with all the chaos, your bath addition is looking great.
I can see the gorgeousness starting to creep out.
So glad to hear Miss M. is on her way back.
Good thoughts for a speedy recovery for the “mini you”.
(Mad).
The lengths to which your daughter will go to NOT share a bathroom with y’all is impressive. I mean, she timing her discharge with the completion of the new bathroom, right?
I kid. ANYONE living through renovation is a hero, not the least of which those with sick kids. Well done!
Happy that Madeleine is on the mend and your house as well.
So glad Mad is doing better! And can’t wait to see the finished bathroom!
Wow your’e making great progress! Hope your daughter gets better soon!
so glad that she’s feeling better!!!
How did I miss this????????? I have been following Mad’s progress on fb, and I’m so glad to hear she’d doing better and coming home soon!
Good grief, I cannot even imagine what turmoil you’ve been living though. Don’t try to tell me you aren’t a superhero, because that’s just the crazy talking.
You rock! And I hope you find some time to kick back and have a martini or 10 very very soon.
